def the only thing we're going to hear from grastog is "IPCC... settled science... consensus..." -- all the stereotypes. This guy is completely stereotypical. How tedious. Think I'll go read some Michio Kaku, you know, do something interesting, productive.
grastog1313
First a correction to saucemystery about IPCC reports. The Summaries are subject to political editing, but the full reports are not. The sea level rise from anthropogenic warming is documented in the full WGI report, and its magnitude can be estimated to have added about 300 million tons of sea water to the Myanmar cyclone surge. I don't know how many excess deaths resulted, but it was almost certainly in the many thousands, and added to the effects of deforestation and the cyclone path.

To SauceMystery - I've no interest in censoring you, and no control over this video, so I would not be able to even if I wanted. Regarding your question below, I don't believe there is any doubt that manmade CO2 contributed to the Myanmar death toll by raising sea levels. Given the additional hundreds of millions of extra tons of seawater added to the storm surge, the actual numbers were undoubtedly substantial. (Regarding defzepled's comment, I addressed it in the How It All Ends thread).

grastog says that sea level rise "substantially" increased the death toll. Can you "substantiate" that for us as to how many more deaths were caused by this? Also can you rule out that the locale, the unusual path the cyclone took and the recent deforestation did not have a great impact?
SauceMystery
this thing is becoming worse than McCarthyism. Maybe soon we'll see people hauled before Al Gore and asked, "Are you now, or have you ever denied man is causing climate to change?" If i was there i would want to say "Have you no shame Mr. Gore, at long last, have you no shame?"
SauceMystery
sounds about right def
SauceMystery
grastog you have scientific proof of this?
defzepled
Sauce: We have to study the alarmist playbook a little harder. The climate has been changing for millions of years as is "natural", but a "denier" is one who doesn't accept AGW? A scientist who speaks out against AGW is an "activist" or better yet, a "heretic", but a scientist supporting AGW is correct and has sound models and reasoning? Global Cooling is caused by "nature", whereas Global Warming is "manmade"?
SauceMystery
grastog you are saying manmade co2 caused more people to die in the cyclone?
SauceMystery
def "Can you "substantiate" that for us as to how many more deaths were caused by this?" funny how this guy speaks with such authority about this. He must have learned this technique from Al Goe.
